Medium Pressure Tanning Beds

Medium Pressure Tanning Beds are when high-pressure facial lamps are added to a Low-Pressure tanning bed, which are common beds found at salons today. These indoor tanning beds use conventional low-pressure fluorescent tubes which emit a UVA/UVB ratio similar to sunlight.

The one major benefit low-pressure tanning beds have over high-pressure tanning beds is the higher UVB component. While admittedly UVB is responsible for burning the skin, its also crucial for the production of vitamin D. Click here to contact us if you have any questions after reading our FAQ below.

Some Frequently Asked Tanning Questions

1.) What is a medium pressure bed?

Tanning beds which deliver power from fluorescent type tubes are referred to as low-pressure beds. When you add high-pressure facial lamps to these beds they are referred to as medium-pressure beds.

2.) Why should I use indoor tanning lotions?

Indoor tanning lotions also know as accelerators add nutrients your body needs to produce melanin. Lotions contain vitamins A, C, E, and botanicals that moisturize and increase blood flow, thus increasing oxygenation of melanin cells to help speed up the tanning process. UV rays reflect off dry skin, and the moisturizers in tanning accelerators help you absorb UV rays for better results.

3.) How do i keep my tan?

Moisturize! Moisturize! Healthy skin tans faster, darker, and retains a tan longer. Drink plenty of water and make sure to keep your skin moisturized with a high-quality lotion specially formulated for tanning. Your skin is constantly renewing itself. The dryer your skin is, the faster it wants to shed its top layers and bring new skin to the surface. If you lose the top layers of skin, you lose your tan too.
